According to information from the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the Infrastructure and Transportation Investment Corporation (Intracom) has recently announced its financial performance for the year 2023.
In 2023, Intracom recorded a post-tax profit of over 46 billion VND. On average, the company made a profit of over 126 million VND per day throughout the year. Compared to the net profit of 76.1 billion VND established in 2022, Intracom’s profit decreased by 39.6%.
As of the end of last year, Intracom’s total assets reached nearly 9.7 trillion VND, up 11.2% compared to 8.721 trillion VND at the same time in 2022. Among these, the company’s total liabilities amounted to nearly 5.5 trillion VND, increasing by 20% compared to the same period and exceeding its equity by 1.3 times.
The company’s equity at the end of 2023 was 4.2147 trillion VND, up 1% compared to the same period in 2022. The return on equity (ROE) of the company reached 1.09% in 2023.
Information from HNX indicates that Intracom no longer has any outstanding bond issuance. The bond debt at the end of 2023 also returned to zero.
Previously, during the period from 2020 to 2021, the company issued 3 batches of bonds with a total initial value of about 580 billion VND. These bonds carried interest rates of 10 – 10.4% per year, matured in 2023, and were fully settled by the company.
Intracom, formerly known as the Urban Infrastructure Investment and Construction Company with 100% state capital, was once a member of the Hanoi Investment and Development Corporation (Handico). The company has been operating since late 2002 in real estate investment, clean energy, construction materials, and construction. It was privatized in 2006.
Intracom is now a diversified company with a charter capital of 1,000 billion VND. Its representative and CEO is Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet (Shark Viet).
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet, Chairman of Intracom Group, is also dedicated to supporting the Vietnamese startup community and participates in the Shark Tank Vietnam program as an “Investment Shark”. Intracom has over 30 subsidiary companies and invests in various sectors, with branches in Singapore and Japan. It serves as the investor for a series of large-scale real estate projects such as the Intracom 1 residential and office complex in Trung Van, Nam Tu Liem, the Intracom Riverside in Vinh Ngoc, Dong Anh, as well as Intracom 2 in Cau Dien, Bac Tu Liem in Hanoi.
In the clean energy sector, Intracom is also the investor and operator of numerous major projects such as the Ta Loi 1, Ta Loi 2, Ta Loi 3, Po Ho, and Nam Pung hydroelectric plants in Lao Cai, and the Cam Thuy 1 hydroelectric plant in Thanh Hoa.
Recently, Intracom has expanded its investment activities into the healthcare industry by constructing the Phuong Dong General Hospital, covering an area of 9.5 hectares with a capacity of up to 1,000 beds, with a total investment of 198 million USD.
In phase 1, the hospital will operate with 250 beds and departments including Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Laboratory, Outpatient, Imaging Diagnosis, Multidisciplinary Department, Pharmacy, Consultation Center, and Vaccine Injection Center.
